Our Training Center

What do we do? Community Medical Center is an approved American Heart Association (AHA) Community Training Center (CTC) for coordinating and teaching Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses. We also teach Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) courses via the AHA and American Academy of Pediatrics. We also serve as a regional resource for American Heart Association courses.

Where can you find us? We are located in the Education Resources office on the basement level of the main hospital building.

Who do we teach? Everyone! In addition to teaching our employees, we have healthcare providers, lay responders, businesses, patients and their family members take our courses.

Our Instructors: We love our instructors! No class could go on without them. We have over 50 instructors experienced in teaching BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP. Some of our instructors teach in more than one area (i.e. BLS and PALS). Our instructors are Physicians, RNs, LPNs, PTs, OTs, Respiratory Therapists, EMTs, and educators for the hospital and local nursing schools.

Our Guidelines: All AHA Training Centers live by the Program Administration Manual. The manual and the corresponding update memos provide us with the requirements for conducting all courses, instructor trainings, monitors, and Training Center operations. These requirements serve to assure that all AHA courses are taught to the most up-to-date research, with the approved course content and format.

Who to Contact? If you have a question/comment/concern, feel free to contact our Training Center Coordinator, Lindsay Beighle, at lbeighle@communitymed.org  or 406-327-4173.
