Cardiac Rehab

(The Montana Heart Center)

Cardiac Rehabilitation at Community Medical Center (CMC) is designed to help individuals reach optimal recovery from cardiac problems through cardiovascular conditioning and education. As you work toward improving your physical condition, you'll learn how you can control risk factors of cardiovascular disease. We'll encourage you to make positive lifestyle choices to improve the quality of your life.

Community Medical Center offers you:

INDIVIDUAL FITNESS PLANS: Your cardiac rehabilitation plan is medically prescribed and supervised. Your plan is based on the results of your exercise treadmill test, medical history and personal physician's recommendations. Together we'll develop the plan to meet your needs.

During your exercise sessions, a cardiac rehabilitation specialist certified in advanced cardiac life support is there to closely supervise your progress. We'll monitor your heart rate, blood pressure, signs and symptoms, level of exertion and ECG tracings. Your personal physician will be kept informed about your progress.

You'll receive direction on the best home exercise programs, as well as any other lifestyle changes.

CONVENIENT SCHEDULING: Exercise, education and follow-up sessions are available at a variety of times to fit your schedule. Usually three sessions a week for up to 12 weeks are recommended.

A TEAM APPROACH: You'll work with a team of Community Medical Center professionals during your cardiac rehabilitation program. Rehab groups range in size from one to four depending on your individual needs. Your program involves:

  • Your personal physician
  • A medical director
  • A cardiologist
  • An exercise physiologist
  • Registered nurses with expertise in cardiac-related illnesses
    Specialists in:
  • Nutrition
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Pharmacy
  • Physical Therapy
  • Psychology
  • Social Services

COST AND COVERAGE: Most insurance companies cover cardiac rehabilitation. Before you begin the program, Community's Patient Accounts staff will help you determine your company's coverage and work out a payment plan with you if necessary.

YOU ARE WELCOME TO VISIT: We invite you to tour Community's Cardiac Rehabilitation facility and to meet our staff. We are located in Building 4. The information desk staff at the main hospital entrance will direct you if you need assistance.

If you have questions about cardiac rehabilitation or our program, please call:(406) 728-4100, ext. 7560
