Job Title: License Practical Nurse (LPN)
I. Job Summary
A. Comprehensive Family Practice experience with emphasis on skills in caring for patients of all ages. This includes but is not limited to GYN procedures, minor surgeries, eye exams, lacerations repairs, fracture care, patient education and instruction.
a. Must take direction well.
b. Must be able to problem solve
c. Must have the ability to design workplace procedures to enhance patient care.
d. Must possess good interpersonal skills
e. Must be able to perform CLIA waived tests and meet the QAS criteria
f. Must be familiar with prescription medications and protocols for calling in prescriptions to pharmacies
g. Must perform Phlebotomy and EKG’s.
h. Must demonstrate phone triage skills
i. Must have good communication skills and be comfortable in phoning patients with test results and be able to answer patient questions.
j. Must be able to administer injections to adults and children
k. Must be able to order supplies and keep an inventory
l. Must be cooperative in performing any additional duties or tasks as requested.
m. Must be able to become proficient in tasks listed on the LPN orientation grid.
n. One-year comprehensive clinical-physician office experience.

III. Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties
A. Provides initial contact with patient, attains preliminary nursing assessment, including: vital signs, height, weight, medication and allergy history
B. Maintains a professional demeanor

D. Thoroughness and accuracy in documentation
E. Performance of procedures (i.e., drawing blood, assisting with office testing and procedures, thyroid aspirations, use of BG monitors)

V. Qualifications:
A. High School plus trade or vocational school in License Practical Nursing Current Montana LPN license and current CPR certification required. Less than one year experience in ambulatory setting
B. One-year comprehensive clinical-physician office experience
