Department:               Emergency Services

Job Title:                    Referral Center Tech

 

I.                     Job summary

Follow established protocols for transport dispatch, both ground and air.  Serves as the referral center ‘one call does all’.  Will exemplify and mentor/model customer service and be a sterling representative of CMC in all verbal and written communication and interactions.  Enter data into database to track referral patterns.

 

II.                   JOB RELATIONS

Clinical Manager of Emergency Services

Director of Emergency Services

Chairman of the Department of Emergency Services

Medical Director of Emergency Services

B.     Inter-relationships

Emergency Services staff – physicians, nurses, techs, registration clerks, communication techs

Medical Control

Resource Manager/House Supervisor

Hospital Departments, including but not limited to other nursing units, radiology, admissions and lab

911 – statewide

Ambulance, flight, law enforcement, HazMat, Search and Rescue and Fire teams at the city, county, state and federal levels

Hospitals and healthcare organizations

Consulting Physicians

 

III.                  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

1.      On-going daily coordination of services with other departments and healthcare organizations, agencies, transport teams, and others as assigned.

2.      Data entry on referral patterns, transports, outreach, follow-ups, ER census

3.      Assist in ongoing process improvement projects

4.      Assist in the Emergency Department when not keeping with assigned Referral Center duties

V.                 Qualifications

Licensures: Minimum EMT

      Maintain current certification in the State of Montana

Certifications:     

ACLS, PALS, PHTLS – required to obtain over the course of one year if not currently certified

           

                        Job Knowledge

Successful completion of hospital, emergency and referral center department orientations
