Emergency Medical Services

For many children, their first experience with a hospital may be a trip to the emergency room. That’s why the emergency department at Community Medical Center has special pediatric bays that are decorated and designed to be comforting to children.

ED physicians are Emergency Medicine Board Certified and PALS certified. One Physician is in the ED at all times.

ED Nurses are certified in critical care nursing, and most have completed the pediatric trauma course, which prepares them for the unique emergency needs of pediatric patients. ED nurses an technicians also are PALS certified. Pediatric nurses attend all Peds trauma, resuscitation or code arrest cases in ED.
