Anyone who could benefit from our services at the Rehabilitation Institute of Montana may be referred for treatment here, either on an inpatient or outpatient basis.The Institute’s admission screening process, provided free of charge, includes these inpatient rehabilitation diagnoses:
  • Stroke
  • Brain Injury
  • Neurological Conditions
  • Spinal Cord Dysfunction
  • Amputation
  • Polyarthritis
  • Orthopaedic Conditions
  • Major Multiple Trauma
  • Burns
  • Congenital Deformity
  • And others

Requirements for Admission: A physician’s referral for medical rehabilitation is required for a patient to receive inpatient therapy. A prospective patient must be medically stable, ready for at least three hours of therapy a day, and able to benefit from our inpatient rehabilitation programs. A clear discharge plan must be in place prior to admission.These guidelines help us to provide patients with appropriate and beneficial rehabilitation services.The inpatient case manager will make arrangements with referral agencies and physicians for admission and transfer of patients to our facility. Outpatient services can be scheduled with individual outpatient departments or programs by calling 327-4050.The Rehabilitation Institute of Montana supports and complies with all applicable federal and state guidelines for nondiscrimination in considering people referred for admission.

Financing Services: Most of our services are covered by Medicare,Medicaid,private insurance companies,workers’ compensation or state vocational rehabilitation programs.As part of the admission process,our Inpatient Referral Coordinator and Social Services staff are available to discuss insurance coverage and financing of services. Our Patient Accounts department can assist with insurance claims and reimbursement.
