Bio
Dr. Von Doersten is a board certified Otolaryngologist, and is also one of 300 physicians in the country who has Subspecialty Board Certification in Neurotology, a field of medicine concerning ear surgery, disorders of the inner ear, skull base surgery, and cochlear implantation. After graduation from Dartmouth College, Dr. Von Doersten completed medical school at the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1989. He performed an internship at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes Hospital in Chicago, followed by a second year of General Surgery at the University of California Davis. After completing his residency in Otolaryngology at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Oakland, California, he engaged in a fellowship in Neurotology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, affiliated with the Otology Group. He was on the faculty at Vanderbilt for one year, became board certified in 1996, and subspecialty board certified in 2004. He has practiced at Rocky Mountain Ear, Nose, and Throat Center since 1996, and has been a faculty affiliate at the University of Montana since 2002 and University of Washington since 2010.
