Healthcare consumers will hear more and more in the coming months and years about the quality of care in hospitals. Two publications issued earlier this decade, To Err Is Human (2000) and Crossing the Quality Chasm (2001) made clear to the healthcare-consuming public that hospitals need to do more than ensure that their physicians have the appropriate credentials and up-to-date facilities and technology. The publications underscored that hospitals also need to produce the quality results the public deserves. Staffing Skill Mix in Providing Quality Patient Care.The nursing profession is recognized as one of the most diverse healthcare professions. A nurse may acquire training of 12 to 18 months to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Registered Nurses (RN’s) may graduate with a two- or three-year diploma, a two-year associate’s degree or a four-year bachelor’s degree. Community Medical Center has received a $90,000 grant to be part of the Montana Cardiovascular Disease and Diabetes Prevention Project. The project is sponsored by the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services with funds allocated by the Montana Legislature.

Missoula, Mont. – During a recent visit to the Rehabilitation Institute of Montana at Community Medical Center in Missoula, Mont., U.S. Sen.
