Pediatric Sedation & Anesthesiology

Pediatric Sedation Program

Our outpatient pediatric sedation program is designed to provide safe and effective sedation for children undergoing medical or diagnostic procedures. We offer a full spectrum of sedation options – including minimal, moderate and deep sedation – tailored to each child's individual needs. Our goal is to alleviate anxiety, minimize discomfort and create a calm, positive experience for patients and their families.

The program is lead by our pediatric sedation nurse and pediatric critical care physicians who are trained in pediatric airway management and sedation safety. Our team ensures every child receives compassionate, expert care in a comfortable setting.

We commonly provide sedation for procedures such as:
  • Lab draw
  • IV
  • Foley catheter
  • NG tube
  • Knee injections
  • MRI
  • ABR (hearing test)
  • Water contrast enema
  • VCUG
  • Mag3 renal scan
  • GJ tube replacements
  • and more

Pediatric Anesthesiology

If your child has an illness, injury, or disease that requires surgery or various procedures, a pediatric anesthesiologist has the experience and qualifications to assist in the treatment and to help ensure that your child undergoes that treatment safely. They are fully trained anesthesiologists who have completed at least 1 year of specialized training in anesthesia care of infants and children. The pediatric anesthesiologist is best qualified to evaluate these complex pediatric problems and plan a safe anesthetic for each child. Through special training and experience, pediatric anesthesiologists provide the safest care for infants and children undergoing anesthesia. Your pediatric surgeon will coordinate with our pediatric anesthesiologists.
