Nurses, Kim (ER) & Jessica (ICU) Receive Daisy Award

November 24, 2025

Kim & Jessica were recently nominated by a patient for a Daisy Award:

"On September 24, I experienced severe chest pain and sweating. I was transported to Community Medical Center's ER via ambulance.

I cannot say enough about the outstanding care I received from the two nurses who took care of me. The ER was short-staffed, so Jessie floated down from the ICU to help in the ER.

Their care was genuine, and their calm, thoughtful manner reassured me. Although I was no longer experiencing pain, I was extremely frightened that I had experienced a cardiac event. The idea had me paralyzed with fear. The nursing assessments were through, but what truly stood out was their kindness. Even knowing I am a retired RN, each one explained everything clearly in a way that I deply appreciated. Kim reviewed what tests would be done and obtained labs immediately. Their professional care reassured me and my fear diminished. I was kept informed of all test results. I cannot say enough nice things about these two nurses, they made a horrible experience tolerable.

I'd also like to thank Rhiannon Gallagher from Diagnostic Imaging, who took care of my X-rays. She could tell I was still anxious so she chatted me up, saw my gown was too small so she got me a larger one, she was friendly and competent. I so appreciated teh extra care she took with me.

Please extend my sincere thanks to all three of these healthcare professionals. They deserve to know what they do–and how they do it– makes a profound difference in the lives of those they care for."
