NICU Babies Join the Brawl of the Wild Spirit
November 24, 2025
Community Medical Center’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is celebrating Montana’s biggest football rivalry in the most heartwarming way—by dressing its tiniest patients in Griz and Cats–themed outfits ahead of the annual Brawl of the Wild game on Saturday.
NICU nurses and care team members lovingly crafted and selected spirited onesies, hats, and themed accessories sized just for the hospital’s smallest football fans. The tradition brings joy to families during what can often be an overwhelming time, offering a moment of fun, connection, and normalcy inside the unit.
“Celebrating milestones and special moments is an important part of caring for families in the NICU,” said Pamela Pearson, Senior Director of Women & Children’s Services at Community Medical Center. “These little touches bring comfort and smiles to parents who are going through a challenging journey, and they allow our staff to share in a sense of community and team spirit.”
Parents were invited to take photos of their babies dressed for the rivalry, a keepsake many say they will cherish for years.
Community Medical Center is home to western Montana’s only Level III NICU, caring for premature and medically fragile newborns from across the region. The annual Brawl of the Wild celebration has become a beloved NICU tradition, reflecting the hospital’s commitment not only to high-quality clinical care but to supporting families emotionally during their stay.
