DAISY Award Honoree: Tamara, RN – Inpatient Rehabilitation

January 29, 2026

Tamara, RN, of Inpatient Rehabilitation was recently honored with the DAISY Award for the exceptional compassion, professionalism, and patient-centered care she provided during a profoundly challenging time for a patient and his family.

Though the nominator did not know Tamara personally, witnessing her interactions and care left a lasting impression. Their brother was hospitalized with metabolic encephalopathy, experiencing short-term memory impairment and significant mobility limitations that placed him at high risk for falls. During this stressful and uncertain period, Tamara consistently demonstrated patience, kindness, and respect—not only toward the patient, but also toward his family and visitors.

For family members who were unable to be present in person, knowing their loved one was in Tamara’s care provided reassurance and peace of mind when it was needed most. Her calm presence and compassionate communication became a silver lining during an otherwise overwhelming experience.

Although Tamara was not scheduled on the patient’s discharge day, a chance encounter the evening before allowed the family to personally express their gratitude. Her sincere well wishes, warmth, and humanity left a lasting impact and reinforced the deep compassion she brings to her work every day.

“Thank you, Tamara, for going above and beyond for our family,” the nominator shared. “You are an incredible nurse and human being, and your passion for your patients truly shows.”

Community Medical Center is proud to recognize Tamara for exemplifying the values of the DAISY Award and for the meaningful difference she makes in the lives of patients and families.
