Community Medical Center Honors NICU Nurse Hannah with DAISY Award
March 19, 2026
Community Medical Center is proud to recognize NICU nurse Hannah as a recipient of the DAISY Award, an international program that honors nurses for their extraordinary compassion, clinical excellence, and commitment to patient care.
Hannah was nominated by multiple families who experienced her exceptional care during their time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Her ability to provide not only skilled nursing care, but also emotional support and clear communication, made a lasting impact during what can be an overwhelming and uncertain time for parents.
One family shared how Hannah helped guide them through the challenges of having a premature baby in the NICU. Despite the stress and emotions they were experiencing, they noted that Hannah remained patient, kind, and understanding. She took the time to explain their baby’s care, ensured they felt included, and created opportunities for meaningful bonding moments. Her compassion and grace left a lasting impression on the family.
Another parent echoed this sentiment, sharing, “Hannah is so sweet. She is always positive, answers all of our questions, and takes such great care of our baby. We really enjoy having her as our nurse.”
Colleagues and leaders also recognize Hannah for her unwavering dedication to her patients and their families. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every baby receives the highest level of care while making families feel supported, respected, and heard.
The DAISY Award (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) was established to honor the memory of J. Patrick Barnes and recognizes nurses who demonstrate excellence through clinical expertise and compassionate care.
Please join us in congratulating Hannah on this well-deserved recognition and thanking her for the incredible difference she makes every day in the lives of our smallest patients and their families.
