Community Medical Center Names Megan Condra as 2026 Mercy Award Winner

May 18, 2026

Community Medical Center recently announced that Megan Condra has been named the facility’s 2026 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each Lifepoint Health facility who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.

Established in 2001, the Mercy Award is an annual recognition program honoring the life and legacy of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.

“At Community, our caring and compassionate team members are at the heart of advancing our mission of making communities healthier – and Megan Condra is a shining example of this day in and day out.,” said Greg Cook, CEO of Community Medical Center. “Megan’s actions go far beyond her role here. She gives of her own time, her own energy and her whole heart to make sure people in this hospital and in this community never feel alone. We are incredibly proud to recognize her with this honor, and I am personally grateful for the example she sets for all of us.”

Condra is widely known throughout CMC and the broader Missoula community for her ability to step in quietly and effectively during times of crisis, ensuring that patients, families, and colleagues feel supported when it matters most.

In one notable instance, Condra learned of a family whose child had been flown to a children’s hospital in Salt Lake City and was facing urgent emotional and financial hardship. She personally organized a community-wide effort to collect gas cards and food, providing immediate relief for the family. She also coordinated with the local Ronald McDonald House who worked directly with the Ronald McDonald House in Salt Lake City to secure safe, stable lodging for the family upon their arrival — easing one of many burdens during a deeply difficult time.

Condra extended that same care to her fellow CMC employees. When colleague Mark Nelson suffered a serious fall and medical emergency in the hospital’s parking lot and was hospitalized with significant injuries, she immediately coordinated donations from staff and community members to replace his broken eyeglasses and provide additional support. Recognizing the complexity of navigating healthcare coverage, she personally assisted Nelson in enrolling in Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to ensure he had access to the care and resources he needed.

Nelson passed away just weeks later. Knowing he had no immediate family, Condra organized a memorial service that brought together coworkers and friends to ensure he was remembered with dignity. Understanding his deep love for his grandfather’s antique truck and his passion for car shows, she coordinated an antique car show as part of the tribute. What began as a small gathering grew into a remarkable display of 27 vehicles and over a hundred community members, a reflection of Condra’s community connections and her commitment to honoring the people she serves.

In addition to these individual acts of compassion, Condra regularly organizes donation drives and support efforts within CMC for employees facing hardship. She carries out this work behind the scenes and often outside of regular work hours, driven entirely by a sincere desire to care for others.
